It trains physical education teachers, sport coaches and specialists in the field of rehabilitation and recreation as well as in tourism. The University is a centre of scientific research in the area of physical education, and as a sport centre it plays a very important role in popularising physical culture. The University has three faculties:
The study curriculum is carried out by 400 academic teachers, including more than 70 professors, as well as over 160 academic teachers with a PhD. At present the University has approximately 6500 students on a full-time basis, evening and extramural courses, including more than 2100 persons on the first year of studies. The student autonomous organization runs cultural, recreational and sport activities for the student community. Students have been given an opportunity to participate in an active way on problem commissions in the fields of teaching, culture, student sport, contacts with other countries and between universities. Students of the University can also pursue their hobbies in the "Warszawa" and "Podlasie" Folk Dance Ensembles, the "Fotomorgana" Photographic Club, the "Zakara" Sailing Club and in other organized initiatives in favour of the student community. Students participation in international exchange within Erasmus programme has increased significantly over the last few years. Moreover, agreements have been signed between the University and 43 other European Universities, which allow foreign students to take up studies at our University. Only in the academic year 2008/2009, the University welcomed 36 Erasmus' students and prepared for them individual paths of education. The University also welcomes those students from abroad, who are capable of studying in Polish. At the moment at University studies Byelorussians, Bulgarians, Mexicans, Georgians and Tunisians. It offers a good standard of life to its citizens. The conditions of studying at the University of Physical Education in Warsaw are very good and the sport base is sufficient. Lectures are highly qualified and they offer a high standard of teaching. I think the study programme fulfills European requirements and standards. My priority at the moment is to complete my studies. In the future I hope to become
