Warsaw University of Technology

Warsaw University of Technology (WUT), founded in 1826, is a renowned academic institution which focuses on undergraduate and graduate programmes in engineering and applied sciences. WUT is the highest ranked engineering university in Poland. Students can choose from a wide variety of degree courses: from architecture to business and management, from mathematics and computer science to biotechnology, robotics, mechanics and environmental engineering, from applied chemistry to geodesy, transport and aeronautics. There are 20 educational units at the University: nineteen faculties and one college.

Undergraduate and graduate programmes taught in English are offered by the following Faculties: Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Information Technology, Environmental Engineering, Mathematics and Information Science, Mechatronics, Power and Aeronautical Engineering (also representative of the Interfaculty Programmes: Mechanical Engineering, Control and Robotics) and Production Engineering. WUT Business School offers postgraduate MBA programmes. The majority of faculties and research centres accept foreign students for doctoral studies.

Students of Warsaw University of Technology have a choice of 11 student residence halls. Students live in single, double or triple rooms or in self-contained flats consisting of two or three rooms. They can use the gym, swimming pool, library, TV room, ballroom, laundry and kitchen. The International Students Office assists in the application procedure. The sooner the application is received, the better are the chances of receiving placement in a residence hall.

The tuition fee depends on both the choice of the faculty and the degree selected (BEng, M.Eng or MBA). It ranges from 1000 to 2500 Euro per one semester (an academic year consists of 2 semesters). International MBA costs 8900 Euro (two semesters) and Executive MBA costs 13 900 Euro (four semesters). Successful applicants can apply for tuition fee exemption. All faculties offer also PhD doctoral degree - the fee ranges from 1500 to 3000 Euro. Since 2008, the project "Development Programme of Warsaw University of Technology" (Operational Programme Human Resources Development 4.1.1), co-financed by the European Union within the framework of the European Social Fund, has been carried out, which has enabled to provide courses at some faculties for which students will not need to pay any tuition fees.

The application form, together with copies of the required documents, can be sent either by post, by fax or by e-mail. Only applications received before 1st August will be considered as valid submissions for the academic year beginning in October. Note: Only the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology enrols first-semester students twice a year: in October as other Faculties do, and in the second half of February. The application deadline for courses commencing in February is 5th January.
