Its traditions date back to the first decade of the twentieth century. The Academy runs 7 Faculties: Painting, Sculpture, Graphic Arts, Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art, Interior Design, Industrial Design, Media Art and Stage Design. There are 12 specializations within the Faculties. The Academy employs 314 academic teachers, and over 100 of them are professors involved in independent research. Each year over 250 new students begin their education in daytime studies and now the Academy has over 1200 students enrolled in various programmes. The Academy cooperates with many art schools within the LLP/Erasmus programme. Each year approximately 70 students of the Academy start education at schools abroad and over 30 foreign students come to study at the Academy. The Academy's curriculum is currently under review in order to adapt its programmes to the Bologna Strategy. An overview of the Academy Faculties:
